Introduction by the Head Teacher
The Hayling College serves a distinctive island community and it has been my privilege to be at the helm here over the last eighteen years. Throughout we have seen our boys and girls achieve increasingly higher results without ever compromising on the outstanding quality of care and guidance we provide. We want pupils to carry forward not only qualifications but enduring memories of great moments shared, wonderful relationships, thrilling events and fulfilling contributions made.
Seeing our pupils as the people of tomorrow, we develop talents, character and future ambition. They experience a wide and varied curriculum, a range of learning styles and rewards for effort and achievement We support and challenge them to succeed!
Our staff are ideal role models in appearance, attitude, relationships and the ability to work in teams as well as independently. Their leadership of a positive learning environment helps pupils to flourish and become successful adults.
I am extremely proud to be Headteacher of The Hayling College and I believe that staff, parents, children and the community want to be proud of their college too.
Pride comes from being successful and in an age when it is all too easy to see standards fall, governors with staff are committed to celebrating the success of all our children. We encourage academic excellence and the right sort of behaviour, treating each other and each other’s property with concern and consideration, being polite and making positive contributions through sport, the arts and generosity of spirit.
